Every year on May 1, I celebrate what many of you know as “May Day.” I honor my mother on this day each year by bringing her a fresh bouquet of flowers. This is my way of expressing my gratitude for all the wonderful life lessons she has taught me and continues to teach me in life as well as being a tremendously amazing role model on how to be the best woman, friend, daughter, sister, wife and mother I can be. I have the best mom in the world!

A special shout-out to my mom, Becky Montana Hale. Happy Mother’s Day! I cherish you and can only aspire to be as amazing a woman and mother as you. Thank you for all you do. I am forever grateful!

This month brings with it an abundance of joy—bright blue skies, a rainbow of flowers and, of course, the celebration of mothers on May 12. In this issue, we not only celebrate mothers but we also highlight all the wonderful women in our community—CEOs, entrepreneurs and doctors, to name a few.

The following pages are filled with stories to inspire us all to appreciate the women in our lives and to strengthen the connection we have with our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends.

From a custom workout routine and stories of philanthropy to profiles of several North Scottsdale women making a difference, the Women’s issue serves to recognize the powerful role women have in our community and beyond. (And don’t worry, gentlemen; you’ll have your moment—stay tuned.)

So, to the women of North Scottsdale—may you find a quiet moment (or two) to enjoy this issue we’ve lovingly dedicated to you.

Be grateful, be kind and live well,

Tammy Fellows
