The ‘Bad Boy Room’ Takes Entertaining the Guys to a Whole New Level

Wayne and Penny Mailloux know that what makes a house a home is entertaining. Their more than 10,000-square-foot home at Desert Mountain (Saguaro Forest) in Scottsdale features a farmhouse look with echoes of Europe, their previous home, and is designed with an indoor-outdoor feel. The more than 9 acres of land surrounding the property cannot be built on, leaving open space for sweeping views, privacy and outdoor adventures.

Most notable of the rooms in this custom home that was created with the uncanny ability to make lasting memories is the “The Bad Boy Room.” This room was named by the owners and shares a common heritage with the rest of the home in that it is a sanctuary for just two people, but also can shift into high gear when the time comes to entertain.

Cricket memorabilia adorns the walls in keeping with memories important to the owner, and also serves as a conversation piece. The full bar and pool table allow for a guys’ night in, while the crackling fireplace and state-of-the-art media room mean the evening won’t wind down too early. The masculine touches in the room add a rich ambiance for the perfect retreat.

“The home just exudes fun possibilities and is custom-made for entertaining,” Davis Driver of Re/Max Platinum Living’s Davis Driver Group says. “It’s a unique home with endless possibilities.”
